Obituary of Lori Conners

IN THE CARE OF

Swan Funeral Home

Lori Hedges Conners, 61, of Westbrook, CT, went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2018 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Her final days were spent with her loved ones by her side, and as anyone who knows her would expect, this is all she wanted not only during this time but throughout her entire life, as her family was her source of true joy and contentment. She is survived by her loyal husband, Kevin, and her 4 beloved children-Sarah, David, Melissa, and Matthew. There are people who cross our paths in this life that have a spirit of compassion so unique and strong that all who interact with them are left with a lasting impression. Lori was one of them. Whether it was sponsoring needy children, feeding and helping locals in need, doting on her grandchildren (and of course, letting them win all the card games), dropping everything to help her children any way she could, or simply smiling at someone who needed it, Lori wanted to make sure anyone with a need had them met. While she had many admirable qualities, this was certainly one that separated her from the crowd, and the world has a little more love in it thanks to her. Lori was a woman with a variety of interests and talents. An avid gardener, she transformed more than one home from typical to remarkable with her keen eye and vast knowledge of all things botanical. Her creative pursuits extended inside the house as well-all who were fortunate enough to see her house (especially during the holidays!) can attest to this. She was also interested in architecture and history and was so grateful she was able to see so much of both on her trip to Ireland and her Mediterranean cruise. Her favorite pastime of all, though, was spending time with her children and grandchildren; nothing brought a smile to her face like they did. She will be dearly missed, and we will all grieve the loss for a long time. We can, however, find solace in knowing her suffering is no more. She is finally free from her illness and with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A memorial service for Lori will be held at Cornerstone Community Church in Clinton, CT on September 16, 2018 at 4:30. All who wish to attend are welcome. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
