Lori was born on September 27, 1958, to parents Shirley and Louis (deceased) Mikulski of Clinton, CT. She attended Morgan High School in Clinton and she currently resided in Killingworth, CT.
Lori was employed by Chesbrough Ponds / Unilever for many years and was most recently employed by The Mercy Center in Madison, CT which became her second family.
Lori is survived by her children Sarah Goldsmith of Massachusetts and Eric Goldsmith of Connecticut and her immediate family mother Shirley Mikulski, sisters Judith McIntyre (Bill) and Jennifer Mikulski, brother John Mikulski (Donna) and nephew Ryan.
Lori’s greatest love were her children Sarah and Eric. Her passions included her cats, gardening, birds, and animals in general. Her yard was full of color each season and her deck adorned with massive pots of flowers. One could relax on her deck and watch the different varieties of birds at her feeders and enjoy the show of many hummingbirds. Lori would think nothing of rescuing a sick or hurt animal or bird and would drive out of her way to ensure feeders were full during winter storms at friends’ homes. Some called her the “Animal Whisperer.” Lori was also enthusiastic about Happy Hour where she formed many good friends over the years.
Lori liked having the final say and one of her favorite phrases was “just saying,” so Lori, (Lulu) from your family and friends we have the last word to you “just saying” we love you and you will be missed every single day.
A Celebration of Lori’s Life will be held on Saturday, Sept 24th at Clark Memorial Field, 10 Elm St., Old Saybrook from 4-7pm. Donations are welcome to The Mercy Center in Madison, CT, The American Cancer Society, and the Animal Welfare League.
