Michael Leon Sutyla

Mike was born on November 9, 1948 in Harford, CT and was raised in West Hartford, CT. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University. Mike worked for Echlin Inc. for many years and ended his career at Pioneering Packaging. Mike was also a United States Army Veteran. He was very active with the Park and Recreation Department in Clinton, serving as a member of the board. He enjoyed many years coaching little league, both baseball and softball and had a real passion for coaching. Mike was a loving father and husband leaving his family with many fond memories throughout the years. Mike was kind, hardworking, witty and very thoughtful. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and they loved their “Poppy”.

Mike is preceded in death by his father Leon Sutyla, his mother Jennie Stearns, his mother in law Sally Graham, his father in law John Graham, his brother in law Francis “Butchie” Silva and his sister in law Kathleen Deming.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Sutyla, his children Michael Sutyla and wife Stefanie Terentiuk, Kathryn Sutyla, Jessica Sutyla and her significant other David Galindo and Patrick Sutyla, his sister Sandy Silva, his sister in law Colleen Bulka and her husband Bob, his brother in law Mike Deming and his wife Lori, his brother in law Brian Graham and wife Patricia, his brother in law Mike Graham and his wife Sue, his four grandchildren, Chloe Murray, Mabel Murray, Leon Sutyla and Dorothy “Peach” Sutyla and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank everyone for all their support and compassion during this difficult time. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation hours at Swan’s Funeral Home in Clinton, CT on January 4, 2025 from 1-3pm. Reception to follow at the Elk’s Club in Westbrook, CT.
