Milagros “Millie” Preciado

Milagros “Millie” Preciado, 71, formerly of Clinton, CT, passed away peacefully of COVID-19, on January 14, 2021. Millie was born on January 4, 1950 in beautiful Ponce, Puerto Rico to Harold Capestany and Loida Cortes.

Millie was an avid bowler, enjoyed taking walks, and loved nothing more but to dance to a good song. She enjoyed hosting large parties and even larger pig roast cookouts, for anyone who wanted to show up. She considered all her close friends her family. Her door was always open as well as her kitchen. She loved to cook and never wanted anyone to go without. Millie always had a smile on her face and a laugh to go with it.

Millie will deeply be missed by her two daughters, Christina Serrano (Jaime) of Guilford, CT and Stephanie Mickens (Marcus) of Middletown, CT. She will also be greatly missed by her five grandchildren, Antonyo Serrano (Rachel) of Clinton, CT, Jazalyn Serrano of Guilford, CT, Izaiah Coachman, Shalynea Mickens, and Mekhi Mickens of Middletown, CT. Her two great-grandsons, that didn’t get to the chance to see and know the fun, loving great-grandma, she would have been, Damian Serrano of Clinton, CT and Ralph Shepard of Middletown, CT.

Millie was the second born of twelve and is also survived by her eleven siblings. Her sisters, Dolly Fore (Alton), Maribel Johns, Milka DeFazio, Abigail Betzinger, Pamela Capestany, Christine Capestany (Joe Soriano) and brothers, Edgardo, Harold (Jr.), Robert (Donna) all of Texas, Edwin (Vivian) of Clinton, CT, and David. Along with many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

In lieu of flowers, turn up a good song and dance like you have never danced before. Celebrate Millie’s life, that’s the way she wanted it to be.

A celebration of Millie’s life will be at a later date.

Millie.... you were a great person and friend always. The last years were rough. We’ve lost many friends to Covid. Rest easy my friend.
