Neon Richard Lawrie of Clinton, CT passed away on Sunday November 16, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born in India on December 29, 1947, spending his childhood and formative years living in Bandra, Mumbai and attending boarding school in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Neon came to America in 1967, with his family, eventually settling in his longtime hometown of Clinton. He worked in the information technology sector as a senior architect and analyst for most of his career, but worked numerous other jobs over his lifetime, many simultaneously. Neon graduated from Quinnipiac University in 1994, after many long years of working full time, raising his family, and slowly taking a night class or two per semester. Along with his 3 brothers, Neon also owned ChromaGraphics, a color separation printing business in Wallingford for over a decade, following the trade of their late father.
Neon was a devout Catholic, actively involved at his home parish of St. Mary’s. He was an avid UConn basketball fan, and was well-versed on many subjects, including finance, politics, and sports. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by them all.
Neon is predeceased by his parents Terence and Ann Lawrie, and his late beloved wife of 48 years, Patricia. He is survived by his son Tristan Lawrie (Alicia), his daughter Elisha Lawrie, and 3 grandchildren, Jordon, Jack, and Emma. In addition, Neon leaves behind his brothers Chester (Amy), Darcel (Judy), and Teren (Anne) Lawrie, and many nieces and nephews.
A wake and visitation with the family at Swan Funeral Home at 80 East Main Street in Clinton, will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm the evening of Wednesday, December 3rd. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s of the Visitation at 54 Grove Street, also in Clinton, on Thursday December 4th at 11:00 am.
