Rosa Aida Torres

Rosa Aida Torres of Clinton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on July 26, 1941, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, and later made her home in Clinton, Connecticut, where she built a beautiful life surrounded by the people she loved.

Rosa worked as a machine operator at Chesebrough-Ponds/Unilever for over 30 years. She was a hardworking woman who took great pride in providing for her family and creating a loving home.

Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo Torres; her loving parents, Roberta and Jovino Andaluz; and four brothers, Felix, Joseph, Guillermo and Robert.

She is survived by her three children, William Torres of East Haddam, Iris and her husband Kirby Cummings of Clinton, and Diane Torres of Clinton. She was a devoted grandmother to Lucas, Lily, and Logan Cummings and Austin Cofrancesco. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Anthony Andaluz, Betty Dudys, and James Andaluz, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.

Rosa’s family was everything to her. She lived for Sunday family dinners and the happiness her cooking brought to everyone around her. Her home was a place where family gathered, food was always being made, and there was always room for one more. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, listening to her music, her first cup of Café Bustelo in the morning, doing crossword puzzles, and keeping up with her favorite soap operas. She collected pigs, had a sweet tooth for McDonald’s apple pies and Almond Joys, and adored her cats and all creatures big and small.

Above all, Rosa will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her family and the memories she created with them. Her presence, her cooking, her traditions, and all the little things that made her uniquely Rosa will be deeply missed.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Baldwin as well as the staff of Autumn Lake in Madison for the care, kindness, and compassion they showed Rosa during her final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a service immediately following at Swan Funeral Home in Clinton, CT. Purple was Rosa’s favorite color, so wearing a touch of purple is encouraged. Burial will be held at a later date.
