Steven was born on September 27, 1938 in Hungary and raised there during World War II and up to the Hungarian revolution at which point his family, parents and sisters, managed to escape Hungary and find freedom in America. He began his marital life in Westbrook where he settled down with his wife Judith and raised their five children. His truest passion was his family. He took great pride in his self-taught trade of tool and die making which is now a lost art. He loved to cook but loved more to fish. Telling stories until your ears fell off while laughing all the while gave him great joy as well. To know him was to love him. His last dying wish was to die peacefully in his home. And he did. In addition to his wife Judith, he is survived by his sisters and brother-in-law Veronica Borsari and Cathy and Roland Desnoyers, Stevens children and their spouses, Jennifer and Russell Trerice, Steven and Hazel Csutor, Judi and Brian Nofziger and Sharon along with his nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 21 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a service to follow at 7:00pm at Swan Funeral Home, located at 80 East Main Street, Clinton.
A burial service will be held in his honor on Friday February 22 at Beaver Brook cemetery.
