

Stuart W Fox Jr, 59, a longtime resident of Clinton, CT, died October 13, 2015. He was born in Meriden, CT the eldest son of Mildred J. Steinfeldt and the late Stuart W Fox Sr and was one of five children. He was also a resident of McShan, Alabama and Gorham, Maine.
Stuart was a retired employee of Chesebrough Ponds, later known as Unilever, where he worked loyally for 30 years as a waste-water treatment plant engineer. He was a favorite coach of many local sports teams, including Clinton Little League, Park & Rec Basketball and Youth Soccer. Coach Fox always gave his players nicknames – stressing the importance of fun and hard work. It was in this spirit he whole-heartedly enjoyed his time as an employee of Boom Technology, in Portland, Maine, especially assisting the Nova Star Ferry. He took great pride working alongside his brother, son and extended crew family up until his passing.
Stuart was a Past Master of Connecticut Freemasons Jeptha Lodge 95 and served as Police Commissioner for the Town of Clinton as well as a Fish and Game Warden. He was a former member of the Lion's Club, Planning and Zoning Committee, Morgan Booster Club and was Chairman of the Board of Finance.
Stuart was a 1974 graduate of The Morgan School in Clinton where he most enjoyed time on stage acting and singing in Morgan Theatre and Chorus. In 1976 he married Nancy Vece (Shuss) and together they have two loving children.
He leaves a son Garrett and his wife Abbie along with three grandchildren Ryker, Maisie, and Cody of Windham, Maine; a daughter Ashlee and her husband Michael of Baltimore, Maryland. He also leaves a brother James and his wife Paula of Gorham, ME; sister Linda and her husband Carl of Westbrook, CT; sister Marsha and her husband Rich of Clearwater, Florida; as well as partner Kris Marie Childers of McShan, Alabama. He is survived by his loving mother, Mildred Steinfeldt of Clinton, CT and is pre-deceased by his beloved father Stuart Fox Sr. and caring sister Susanne. Stuart also has several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on October 22nd from 4-7pm at Swan Funeral Home in Clinton. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on October 23rd at The Holy Advent Church in Clinton. While Stuart loved daisies, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Stuart’s memory can be made to Clinton Social Services, where he would delight in bringing smiles to children and families.
