Theodore Anthony Czaplicki

Theodore A. Czaplicki, age 83 of Clinton passed away on June 16, 2012. Teddy was born in East Haven on July 27, 1928 to the late Sophie and Anthony Czaplicki. Besides his parents, Teddy was predeceased by his sisters Helen Shugrue and Stella Piedescalzo. He is survived by his loving wife Georgiana; daughters Susan (Gary) Pire of Ivoryton, CT, and Janet (Dan) King of Auburn AL; and sister Florence (Herbert) Newell of New Hampshire. Teddy will also be missed by his grandchildren Bethany (Brian) Boyle, and Ryan and Kaitlin King as well as great granddaughters Brooke and Libby Boyle.

Teddy served on the USS Troy as a Merchant Marine and later in the Navy on the aircraft Carrier USS Tarawa during World War II. He was a lifetime member of The Westbrook Elks Lodge # 1784. Teddy volunteered for the Clinton Relay for Life and delivered Meals on Wheels in Clinton for many years. He volunteered at the George Flynn Classical concerts in Clinton as well. He was an avid gardener and he loved the Red Sox. Teddy had a great sense of humor and entertained many with his storytelling.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Visitation Church in Clinton. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main St. in Clinton from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Messages of condolence may be made online at www.swanfh.com.
