Todd Chapman Hirst, 49, of Westbrook CT died after a brief illness, surrounded by family and Soul Mate Jenni Lopez, at his family home on March 4, 2012. Todd was born in Meriden on March 7, 1962, to Gail (Warnes) Hirst of Westbrook and the late James Joseph Hirst Sr.
Todd loved the water, as evidenced by the many years he was a commercial fisherman. For the past 10 years, Todd drove 18 wheelers, moving goods throughout the east coast and mid America. In between he was the proud owner of Able Lawn Service. Todd was an avid story teller. Todd loved to drive, could fix any car, work with his hands, camp, fish, travel, take pictures, talk on the phone and help people. Todd was able to talk with anyone about anything, and was always reading. But above all else, he loved his family and friends.
Besides his mom, he is survived by two sisters, Toni and Rae Hirst, three brothers Jimmie and his wife Karen, and children Jimmie III, and Courtney Hirst, Fagan Hirst and Luke Hirst and his wife Michelle, and children, Jillian, Eva, Alexandra, and Luke Tyler Hirst. Todd is also survived by his Soul Mate for life Jenni Lopez, Aunt Jo, close friends Kimberly Hirst, Joe Lopez and Charla Nich, Ed Kotulski, many cousins and friends too numerous to mention. He is predeceased by his sister, Laura Gail Hirst.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Middlesex Hospice & Palliative Care.
