Vincent John Guerra

In his 99th year, Vincent passed peacefully into the loving embrace of our Lord. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and spent his youth in both Brooklyn NY and Norwalk CT. He married his beloved, Jean M. Aquaro on May 29, 1955 in St. Vincent DePaul R.C. Church , Williamsburg, N.Y. They began married life living in Greenpoint, N.Y. and soon relocated to Auburndale and Fresh Meadows, NY., where they raised their family. His final years were spent living along the CT shoreline in the town of Clinton.

A kind and caring man, who throughout his life, gave of himself to many people, never expecting anything in return. He was deeply religious and unwavering in his Catholic faith. He served in the US Army, Company 109 Infantry Regiment, during the Korean War and returned home to reestablish his career in Banking, retiring after 46 years as a Bank Executive. Always an avid reader, an athlete and sports fan. In his youth, Vincent was scouted for team tryouts for the Brooklyn Giants. His love of baseball continued throughout his life, as a loyal NY Yankees fan. Meeting with family and friends old and new, he reveled in recounting the fascinating stories of his life with great insight and humor.

Vincent is predeceased by the love of his life, Jean. They were married for 56 years at the time of her death. He is survived by his two loving and devoted children, Janice and James, both of Clinton, CT. He will always be remembered by his family for his generous and deep love for them, shown throughout his life in acts of kindness, caring, calm guidance, and quiet strength.

The family would like to thank his dedicated caregivers at Westbrook Visiting Nurses who treated Vincent with respect, love and compassion during the last years of his life. They truly are “Angels on Earth”. Thank you to the health care team at CT Hospice, Branford who brought him comfort during his final days.

Vincent will lie in repose at The Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main Street, Clinton, C.T. 06413. Visitation will be on August 12, 2026 between the hours of 4 and 8pm.

Entombment will follow in the Christ the Redeemer Mausoleum at St. John Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village N.Y. 11379
