William Joseph Kroupa
August 15, 1934 – February 20, 2018
William J. Kroupa, 83, of Clinton died peacefully on February 20th 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
William is survived by his longtime companion of 51 years Patricia Fay Norton of Clinton. In addition William leaves behind a sister Mrs. Nancy Murphy and her husband Warren Murphy both of Madison, Maine, his niece Donna Sobieraj of Clinton, nephew Raymond Doane of Arizona, and cousins David Palm and his wife Joanne Palm of Clinton, Edward Palm and his wife Linda Palm of Westbrook, and Shirley Mikulski of Clinton. William is also survived by great nieces Kristen Tuccitto and her husband Anthony Tuccitto of Clinton, Darla Storto of Conway, Arkansas, Jody Bonaldo of West Haven, and Tina Potvin of Rogers, Arkansas among many others.
William was the son of the late Evelyn Bernice Church and William J Kroupa of Clinton.
William served in the United States Army as a machinist specialist E-4 from 1957 until honorably discharged in 1963. He went on to work at Kramer Corporation in Old Saybrook as a master tool maker from where he retired after over 40 years of service.
William was a skilled woodworker, avid hunter and outdoorsman and proud life member of the National Rifle Association. Please send gifts or donations to the NRA per William's wishes.
William will be laid to rest at Beaverbrook Cemetery on Route 145 in Clinton, Connecticut with a full military burial and graveside service on Tuesday February 27th at 12 noon. A gathering of friends and relatives will be open to all at the Old Saybrook VFW at 315 Essex Road, Old Saybrook from 1pm till 3:30 p.m.
