Amandus "Red" Charles Haerens

Mr. Amandus “Red” Charles Haerens, of Clinton Twp., passed away on August 12, 2018, at 96 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Alice; adored father of Mike (Deborah) Haerens, Daniel (Wendy) Haerens, Anthony (Judy) Haerens, Timothy Haerens, the late George Haerens, and the late Susan Jakubowski; proud grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of six; dear brother of George (the late Linda) Haerens, the late Charles (the late Irene) Haerens, and the late Marie (the late Herbert) Gross. Red is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Red was born on April 26, 1922 in Detroit to the late Julius and Marie Haerens. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy during World War II, where he received the Bronze Star.

The family will greet friends from 3:00pm- 8:00pm with a 7:00pm Memory Sharing service on Thursday, August 16, at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Twp. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 17 at the above location. Interment with Naval military honors at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Detroit. Please meet at the gate of the cemetery at 1:45pm.
