Amy Marie Kelley

Amy Marie Kelley, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2026. She was born on May 17, 1974, in Southfield, Michigan, to Michael Jay Austin and Nancy Wrenn. Amy was raised in Mount Clemens and graduated from Mount Clemens High School with the Class of 1992. She later lived in South Lyon for a time before making her home in Clinton Township with her family.

On November 15, 1997, Amy married the love of her life, Peter James Kelley, in St. Clair Shores. Together, they shared nearly 30 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, creativity, laughter, and family. Most importantly, they were devoted parents to their son, James.

Amy was a bright, kind, loving, cheerful, and compassionate woman whose greatest joy was her family. Although she worked at various places throughout her life, including Burger King, Mac and Ray’s, and Sorrento Pizza, she most recently spent the last 12 years working in assembly at Fisher Dynamics. Yet, Amy considered her most important job to be that of a homemaker. She was a wonderful and loving wife and mother who took great pride in caring for the people she loved.

Amy had a wonderfully creative spirit. She and Peter enjoyed doing crafty projects together, often working side by side as he created his art and Amy brought her own talents and ideas to their projects. She had a special gift for working with color and loved creating useful storage pieces, trinkets, and all kinds of crafts. More recently, she discovered a love of quilting. Amy also enjoyed getting together with the women in her family to create unique craft houses from cardboard and other materials, turning ordinary things into something special. She had a particular fondness for anything with a little extra sparkle and absolutely loved her bling. She also enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies, a hobby that brought her much happiness over the years.

Amy valued education and was proud of her accomplishments at Baker College, where she graduated in 2015. She earned two bachelor’s degrees, an associate’s degree, and a certificate—an impressive reflection of her intelligence, determination, and desire to continue learning.

Amy and Peter made many wonderful memories together through their travels and vacations. She especially enjoyed visiting Texas and was happiest almost anywhere there were palm trees. She also had a special fondness for animals and adored her teacup Yorkie, Luna.

Amy’s Baptist faith was an important part of her life. She carried that faith, along with her kindness and compassion, with her throughout the years.

Amy will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Peter Kelley; her son, James Kelley; her mother, Nancy Wrenn; her brother, Ryan (Becky) Spurlock; and her step-father, Richard Helle. She is also survived by many loving extended family members, including her uncle, Patrick Rosilli; aunt, Suzette Rosilli; great-aunt, Maxine Griggs; uncle, Roger Wrenn; aunt, Ann Wrenn; cousins, Dale (Sandra) Rosilli, Patrick (Bridee) Rosilli, Brooke (Noral) Munsey, and many other extended cousins; as well as her niece, Emily Spurlock, and nephew, Ethan Spurlock. Additionally, Amy is survived by her parents-in-law, Paul and Renee Kelley; her siblings-in-law, Timothy (Jackie), Kevin (Yvette), and Colleen (Nicholas); nephews, Brandon, Paul, and Edward; and nieces, Caitlin, Victoria, and Elizabeth.

She is preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Kelley.

Amy’s unexpected passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the lives of those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her cheerful spirit, compassionate heart, creativity, love of family, and the countless ways she made ordinary moments brighter.

An inurnment for Amy will take place on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 11:30 am at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road in Clinton Township. Following those services there will be a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm at Fern Hill Golf Club, 17600 Clinton River Road in Clinton Township.
