Andrew “Andy” Fontana, age 75, of Sterling Heights, Michigan passed away on January 22, 2024. He was the beloved husband for 52 years to Cindy Fontana; Adored father of Andrea Fontana, Anthony Fontana (Dollie) and Natalie Gargulinski (Josh); Amazing Papa of Sarah, Arianna, Lucas and Lilliana; Dear brother of Paula Calder (John), and preceded in death by his brother Joe Fontana (Terry); also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Andy was a dedicated husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam Conflict Era. He worked until retirement with UPS. In his personal time, Andy enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting, fishing and golfing. He also loved having any opportunity to get together with others so he could barbeque and enjoy craft beer. Andy is deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2-8 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038. A funeral service will follow on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11 AM, with family greeting guests at 10 AM, also at Resurrection Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 with a military honors and final committal service at 10:30 AM.
