Ann Wasnuk, passed away on June 7, 2020, at the age of 87. Born Annelise Knoferle, June 5, 1933 in Germany. She loved her family and friends. She met Donovan Wasnuk in Munich where he was serving in the US Army. Later in Detroit, they married and began life together in Michigan. They were married for 29 years, until Donovan passed away suddenly back in 1983. Ann worked at the GM Technical Center until her retirement in 1996. In her later years, even as she battled Alzheimer’s, she brightened the day of both The Garden Terrace staff and residents.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Cyndi (John) Palmer, Lori (Robert) Bartelotti, Linda (William) Tiger, and Mary Jo (the late Michael) Charleston; her grandchildren, Jamie Lister nee Charleston, Donovan Charleston, Samantha Tiger, and Danielle Lara nee Tiger; she is also survived by her sister Angie Schell (the late Carl). Preceded in death by her beloved husband Donovan, as well as her parents, Sebastian and Zenta Knoferle.
Ann will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Until we meet her again, we celebrate her life and miss her presence.
