Ben dedicated many years to the Tool and Die industry, building a career marked by skill and dedication. A true outdoorsman, he found great joy in fishing and hunting, especially on his treasured trips to Oscoda and to his hunting camp in Gladwin. His deep appreciation for nature brought him peace and fulfillment.
Beyond his love for the outdoors, Ben had a passion for cooking. Whether preparing meals for loved ones or experimenting with new recipes, he took great pride in his culinary creations. One of his favorite traditions was a good fish fry, made all the more special when he cooked the fish he had caught himself.
Ben was a devoted husband to Linda Varney, sharing 61 years of love and partnership. He was a caring father to the late Andrea Lynn Varney, and to Richard (Jennifer) Anderson Varney and William Wray Varney. As a cherished grandfather, he took great pride in Drake (Madison) Varney and Jonah Varney.
He was a beloved brother to the late Gladys (the late Ernest) Damron and the late Genevie (the late Kelly) Williamson. A wonderful uncle, he brought joy to Guy Williamson, Jason (Jennifer) Williamson, Helen Williamson, Kim Teal, Rhonda Damron, and Steven Damron and to his great nephew, the late Eric Williamson and his great niece, Jennavie Williamson. His love and warmth will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
