Betty was born on February 26, 1928 in Roberts Landing, Michigan to William and Clara O’Leary. She spent her childhood growing up on the beautiful St. Clair River and loved the water. She graduated from Holy Cross High School in Marine City and later from U of D Mercy for her nursing degree. Betty married Bill on May 3, 1952 and they started on their large family. She loved all the seasons, but her favorite was the springtime. She was an avid gardener and loved her magnolias and peonies. Betty’s Catholic faith was extremely important to her. She was such a dedicated mother and all her children are grateful for the Christmas and memories she created for us.
Betty is survived by her children: JoAnne (Larry) Harmon, Pat (Lynn), Mari, Suzanne (Ted) Ruegsegger, Carol (Marco) Manzo, Dave (Lori), Matt (Kathy), and Jim; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Bill; and her siblings: Mary Breest, Aileen Morrison, Ann Nocita, John O’Leary, and Patricia Geist.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
