Beverly Jane Gillock, age 94, of Eastpointe, Michigan. Beverly passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Ascension Macomb Hospital due to complications from heart and respiratory ailments. She is survived by her loving sons David Gillock of Clinton Township, MI and Craig Gillock of Eastpointe, MI.
Beverly was born on November 14, 1928, the sixth and youngest child of Harry and May Beaubien, who lived on Chesterfield Road in East Detroit. She graduated from East Detroit High School in 1946 and went on to cosmetology school. She then worked as a beautician at various salons in the Detroit area. She married her husband, Charles “Chuck” Gillock, on August 18, 1951. She and Chuck lived on Courtland Avenue in the home they purchased in 1955. Along with their two sons they traveled extensively in Michigan and spent many vacations in Florida. Chuck passed away on December 18, 1990. A woman of strong faith, Beverly was a dedicated longtime member of the congregation at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Roseville, MI. Amazingly, Beverly lived her entire life in East Detroit (now Eastpointe) – all 94 years!
Beverly was a wonderful Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Aunt, and Friend. Her positive outlook on life, dedication to family and friends, terrific sense of humor, and infectious laugh serve as inspiration to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on forever in the many lives she has touched.
A funeral service and celebration of Beverly’s life will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 11:00AM at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 26830 W Park St., Roseville, MI 48066. Following the service a reception and lunch will be provided in at the church’s events room.
