Dearest Sue,
     I remember when Bill & I first met, when he was brand new at Benedictine. We shared a couple of classes and as he looked a little lost, I tried to make him feel  'at home', introduce him around, show him 'the ropes'. That was the easy part - he just took to everyone and made friends so fast!  [At our 40th Reunion, he told me "Thank You for taking care of me & making me feel comfortable when I was new, way back then" - I was shocked that he even remembered that!  But, I should have known that HE would ---- Nice guy, that Bill....]
    I NEVER saw him without a smile for everyone!  [His Mom probably told him that "if he made that FACE one more time, it would get stuck that way!" Apparently, he chose a SMILE, not a Scary FROWN! ]
     About 8 yrs. ago, my husband & I moved across the street from Lake Huron, to Port Sanilac.  Since I was a kid, I have been so fascinated by B-17's, F-16's, and the like, read all the books, saw the movies, etc. [ I even took & passed Flight Ground School and got a few hours of air time before the money ran out].
    So we now live in the 'direct path' of the F-16's from Selfridge [so mad they're retiring them!].     Whenever an F-16 and his Wing Man went on their test flights, I would run from wherever I was in the house to get outside to my deck and SEE the wonder of these - to me --- Breath-Taking, Flying Aces! [Yes, neighbors already knew I was nutso....].  
     When I couldn't get outside in time to see the Northbound fly-over, I would wait till they came back south.  One time, they BROKE THE SOUND BARRIER [a past 'no-no'] and I was thrilled---hadn't heard THAT in years! ---I knew instantly 'those guys are gonna be in some deep doo-doo when they got back on base'! I KNOW Bill would have enjoyed that 'maneuver'! They still make those 'test flights',  but many times now, without a Wing man.....so I don't always have a '1st Man' warning in time to catch the '2nd man'.  [I shattered my leg 15+ yrs. ago, so sometimes I  'run-limp-run-limp, and miss the darn flight!]]     
     My brother Gabe, was also in the Army, [retired  Lt. Colonel soon before we moved here & he still went to the PX at Selfridge alot].  I knew he knew Bill, but he NEVER told me what Bill did or that he worked at Selfridge! Brat! [HE also knows Sean Byrne, who I keep in touch with, & now... I find out that he's married to Tom's wife's sister!!   Waaayy too small world!]
    Then, to top off all the crazies -- I find out that BILL actually worked on MY jets!  I thought that was the epitome of GRAND POETIC JUSTICE -- it meant those F-16's would NEVER crash into MY house!!! 
   Hearing his Co-Workers 'praising testimonials', wasn't surprising as Bill ALWAYS did EVERYTHING to the utmost best of his ability, including falling deeply in love with you!!  When he told me about you, his face actually reddened, then GLOWED, then looked so serene!!  HE loved you soooo much, and God, you made him so happy, Sue!! I know you and your sons know that!
    So from now on, until they totally stop the F-16's, every time I hear or actually get to see one, its going to be forever imbedded in me BILL,  knowing that he is much HIGHER IN THE SKY now.  He is where he should be---I just wish it wasn't so soon! [Oh gosh - wayyy too long memorial here --sorry! But I wanted to tell it ALL about this Great Guy!!!]

I knew him as Billy.  We met in first grade at St. Gregory's.  He was always so kind to me.  He was my first boyfriend.  The kids would tease me because my name is Karen.  They would say if you married Billy your name would be Karen Carron.  My family moved from the area after 5th grade.  My older sister, Lynn, has fond memories of your brother-in- law Jim.  I am so sorry for your loss.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate you letting me know that Bill was called to be with the Lord.  There can be no greater loss than that of a loved one, but grieve not; for that which you loved most about Bill will be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain.

You give but little when you give of your possessions.  It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.  Though I had not seen Bill since grade school days at St. Gregory, it is clear you and Bill have given all that you have because you believe in life and the bounty of life.  Through your hands God has spoken, and from behind your eyes He has smiled upon the earth.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.  Bill has been your needs answered.  You have deepened each others spirit.  You have filled each other's needs, not emptiness with laughter and sharing of pleasures.  That's what I will remember when we were recently connected after all these years.  It was as if we had seen each other the day before!

Therefore let your visit to the temple be for nothing but ecstasy and sweet communion in celebration of the life of your beloved Bill.  May God give you and yours the strength to continue living your lives in that same blessed spirit.

So sad we lost a GREAT Man and friend.  I played softball with Billy for a few years at selfridge and as like myself Bill never liked to lose.  Well a couple of days ago we lost another great man to the LORD.  Billy was a honorable and true believer. We have so many ball players up in heaven I dream about them all the time.  Billy you will be in my prayers always. Sue and boys Bills memories will live forever God shield you in his kindness and love.  P.S.  BEST DAMN 3RD BASEMAN I EVER PLAYED WITH.

Knowing Rich and Rob for over 40 some years, Billy always treated me like family. Thank you for opening your heart in fellowship. May your family feel the blessing of God in knowing you.

To the Carron family....I am so very sorry for your loss.  Bill is gone too soon but from the other entries I can tell he was greatly admired and much loved.  I remember Billy as a kid from a loving family. I knew the boy but not the man.  Being the babysitter for the Carron family when they lived on Roselawn I learned so much from them.  Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Bill was one of the first I met in the F-100 maintenance area.  I'll never forget the time he was getting an F model ready to go to the trim pad and he asked me if I'd like to go in the back seat, of course.  We started taxing up Alpha taxiway between 10 and 15 knots.  I reached down grabbed the throttle and ran it up a little.  He tried to pull it back to idle and for some reason it wouldn't move.  He said let go were going to get fired if someone sees us.  My answer to him was I thought you wanted to taxi.  We laughed about that for years.  Fred and I went on many deployments, played softball, bowled in the same league, we even played golf a few times before going to work on the swing shift along with Don, Pete, Tony and sometimes Roger.
Thanks for the many years of friendship our thoughts are with prayers are with Sue and the family.  Bless you all.

I will remember Bill as a competitor.  We grew up honing our basketball skills in the tiny gym at St. Gregory.  I often wonder what greatness we could have achieved if we has had a Senior year together. Although we went our different ways after St. Gregory closed I will rember fondly the friendship we shared.  My condolences to the family, may they find peace.

I always said "every woman needs a Bill". If you knew him, you would understand. Bill will be remembered as a great husband, father, brother, brother in law, uncle, and friend. He stood for everything that is good in life.

His presence will be deeply missed; however I am so grateful to have had him in my life for 42 years. Thank you Bill, for so many wonderful times and for making me strive to be a better person.

Every time I hear the song "You find out who your friends are" I think of a very SPECIAL group of people. Bill is at the very heart of that group. I never have for a moment, and never will forget what he did for us one horrible night  and how difficult it must have been for him. He will always be in my heart. ( and yes, he has my permission to smack my Brian when they meet up again and please follow that with a hug )

I will remember Bill for his kindness & thinking of others.  He attended the viewing for my husband Glenn in late December 2011.  He told my son how sorry he was for our loss.  Bill also told Sean to tell me not to worry about doing the snow, that he was retired & would take care of it for me.  Praying that happy memories of Bill will soon take the place of the heartbreak of losing him for the family.  Sue, I'm here if you need to talk, a shoulder to cry on, someone to sit with or go out to dinner with.

I will always remember Bill's smile and good nature. I was proud to serve in the Michigan Air Guard with him as well as being a member of the Technicians on the Flightline at Selfridge. More than that we were F-16 two seater Crew Chiefs and I gained alot of knowledge from Bill. He was my Supervisor, my Co-Worker, my Friend and my Brother -in-Arms and I will always hold him in highest of esteem. My sincere condolences to his family, Sue and his Sons. I wished I could be there for my final Salute but I know that my Maintenance Brothers will thoughtfully give it in my absence. I pray God will carry all of you in the palm of his hand and give you comfort at this sorrowful time in your lives. God be with you his family and friends and I look forward to seeing you again my Brother Bill.

I really enjoyed the times I was able to spend with Bill. I especially enjoyed sharing our atheltic careers in high school. Bill will surely be missed but his legacy and spirit with live on in each person his life touched.

Although we did not know Bill personally we know his brother John. We will keep the Carron family in our prayers. May his Family find the strenght to carry on knowing Bill is now in God's hands.

I had the honor of working for Bill his last few years before retirement.  We will always remember him as a great leader and someone we would strive to become. If ever we had a question, he had the answer, followed by "I'm not just another pretty face".  Bill your time on earth was shortened, but heaven is now a better place to have a guy like you!  See you on the other side my friend.

We were so saddened to hear of Bill's sudden passing. Our family had been neighbors to Bill and Sue for many years. Bill's kindness and friendship will be greatly missed. The entire Carron Family will be in our thoughts and prayers. May God's comfort and strength be with you all during this difficult time.

We were lucky enough to have moved from Illinois, into the neighborhood where Bill and Sue lived back in 1981.  Although we were only there 2-1/2 years, we created a friendship that even included our children and has lasted over 30 years.  Heck, it was easy to do with with such wonderful people who made us feel like family. We are blessed to have known
'Mr. Bill', as we all called Wilfred, and Sue, Brian and Dan as well.  Mere words can't express how we feel about the loss of such a dear, dear friend.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Sue, Brian, Dan and the entire Carron family.  It must be true that the good die young because God just snatched a good one from us to be in His kingdom.  Rest in peace my friend.

After my parents lived next to the Carrons when I was born, our families quickly became very close.  I will miss Bill's laugh, and I pray for quick healing for Brian, Danny, and "Mrs. Sue".  Love you all

Wilfred - You are gone way too soon . An outstanding person and co-worker for all those years in the Guard . Don't remember if I ever out-threw you in horseshoes , probably not tho . What counts is the comraderie . Our running joke was , "what it am , what it are , what it will be ". So sad I won't get to exchange that with you anymore .  The two words that best describe you I have only used on maybe two or three others in my life ,  " Great Guy " . You will forever be reminisced about .

I never met Bill but if Dan is a reflection of his fathers character, than the world has lost a good man and truly unique, warm, kind and caring individual. Godspeed Bill.

What a FABULOUS man Bill was.  Always quick with a joke to make you smile no matter how crabby you were feeling.  His message on their answering machine always  cracked us up even after years of listening to it.  Our hearts are breaking for Suzie, Brian and Danny as we know that their lives were entwined as one, cemented by the love of this very special man.  We'll personally remember Bill as the one who always saved the other men at the school staff functions because he could talk a mean game of sports!  God has a wonderful new angel!  Big hugs to his entire family...

What a great pleasure it was to work with Bill over the years; a great golfing buddy and a great friend; only one mold was made. Our hearts and prayers are with Sue and the boys.

I've known Mr. and Mrs. Carron since I was a kid and just recently started referring to them as Bill and Sue.  :0)  I will always remember Mr. Carron's warm smile and laugh.  My prayers and love go to his entire family and everyone who knew him.  May your memories bring you comfort during this extremely difficult time.

I will dearly miss my Uncle Bill. He always had a good story or comment that made us smile and laugh. He was very kind and always greeted us with a warm hug. He was surrounded by love from a huge family of siblings, nieces, and nephews, and most importantly, a beautiful, caring wife and 2 successful sons that carry on his great character.
