Carrie Jean Kulasa, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and aunt, passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 63. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of faith, family, friends, and the joy of travel. She touched the hearts of many and left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Carrie's faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church for over 30 years. She lent her voice to the choir and served as a cantor, sharing her love of music and worship with the congregation. Her commitment to her spiritual community extended to volunteering with McRest, the children's choir, Eucharist ministry, catechism classes, and the youth group. Carrie's dedication to her church family was unwavering, and her contributions were cherished by all.
In her leisure time, Carrie found great joy in crafts, including crocheting, knitting, and needlepoint. These creative pursuits allowed her to express her artistic side and create meaningful gifts for her family.
One of Carrie's greatest passions was traveling. She explored the country, relishing the great outdoors through camping and enjoying the serenity of beach destinations, with Hawaii holding a special place in her heart. Her adventurous spirit and love for discovering new places enriched her life and left her with cherished memories.
Carrie was known to savor the company of her “sisters”, her closest and dearest girlfriends. Their bond was unbreakable, and they shared countless moments of laughter, support, and love throughout their lives. In her moments of relaxation, Carrie would indulge in her love for reading and enjoyed a glass of Moscato and specialty wines.
Above all else, Carrie adored her children and grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she poured her heart into nurturing these precious relationships. She also extended her motherly love to countless other children who found a second home under her nurturing wing. Her love knew no bounds, and her legacy of compassion will forever be remembered by the many lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion.
Carrie was the loving wife of David for 41 years. The beloved mother of Catrina (James) Kulasa, Stephanie (Patrick) Kulasa, Kelli (Robert) Kulasa, and John Kulasa. She was the cherished grandmother of Jackson, Aili, Connor, Sawyer, Madison, and Maxwell. She was the caring daughter of Estelle and the late Thomas Hayes. She was the dear sister of Sheryl (the late James) Martin and Thomas (Regina) Hayes. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Carrie will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A funeral mass will occur Monday, November 13, 2023 at 9:30 am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 40501 Hayes Road in Sterling Heights. Friends may visit the church on Monday beginning at 9:00 am.
