Catherine Alice Botkin

Catherine Alice Botkin, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025. A beloved and longtime resident of Mount Clemens for over 30 years, Catherine will be remembered for her warm heart, creative spirit, and unwavering love for her family and heritage.

Catherine had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She delighted in watching Olympic figure skating and proudly took part in skating fundraisers for her cherished little angel, Hayley, whom she held close to her heart. Her hands were rarely still—whether creating beautiful latch hook rugs or crafting homemade gifts, she poured love into every stitch.

A true connoisseur of sweets, Catherine enjoyed cookies, cakes, and banana bread, though she was just as fond of seafood. She looked forward to family reunions up north and cherished time spent visiting relatives, always bringing warmth and laughter with her.

Catherine was immensely proud of her Irish heritage. A devoted fan of both Notre Dame and Michigan football, she cheered for her teams with spirited pride. Her love of stories was reflected in her passion for reading, especially the Harry Potter series and All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot. Her enthusiasm for Harry Potter extended beyond the books and movies—one of her favorite memories was visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.

Catherine was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Catherine Botkin. She leaves behind many dear cousins. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and heartfelt devotion to those she loved will live on in all who knew her.

A visitation for Catherine will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A rosary will be said at 7:00PM on Friday. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street in Mount Clemens. Friends may visit the church on Saturday beginning at 10:30AM.
