Catherine W. Gamble

Passed away peacefully March 10, 2017.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland Oct. 5, 1919 to George and Jessie Wilson. After graduating from Detroit Eastern High School, Catherine gained successful employment at Standard Accident Ins., Packard Motors (WWII), TWA Airlines, retiring from the Detroit Public Schools.

Beloved wife, 72 years, of the late John M. Gamble with whom she traveled the world. Cherished sister of Margaret Backstrand. Loving Mother of Carol (Russ Richeda), John T. (Joyce Brienza), Cathie Wilson, Clare Hunter. Beloved Nana of Matthew, Jonathan, and Anna Marie (Brian Palmer). Loving aunt of many.

Catherine was a great appreciator of literature and music. She had a beautiful Soprano voice and enjoyed singing in a variety of Church choirs. She will be remembered by all as a kind, strong and independent woman.

In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to Salvation Army, Disabled American Veterans, or any Women’s Shelter.

Visitation Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 10:30 until time of Funeral Service at 12pm at Kaul Funeral Home 35201 Garfield, Clinton Township, Michigan.
