On December 28, 2024, the Tare family sadly announced the peaceful passing of Cecilia Marie Tare, the beloved wife of Leonard. They were set to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 2025. Cecilia was born on July 22, 1946, to Phyllis J. and Michael S. Zielinski in Detroit, Michigan. She is survived by her five children: Sean, Martin, Leonard Jr., Susan, and Stephanie; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister Phyllis; and her brother Michael.
Cecilia was a spirited and principled person who deeply loved and touched all her family members. Her kindness and goodness were felt by everyone at any gathering. She graduated from Lakeview High School and worked as an accountant at a county mental health administration. Her interest in healthcare was reflected in her dedication to supporting special needs children and advocating proper care for her family. Cecilia was energetic and engaged in various activities, including coaching soccer, gardening, and preparing food and beverages. She embraced new experiences such as scuba diving, flying, and car repair and enjoyed traveling.
The family invites all friends to keep them in their prayers during this time of loss and to join them in celebrating Cecilia's life I from 11:00am until time of memorial mass at 11:30am on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market St., Mount Clemens., Michigan. Inurnment following at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp., Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations may be made in Cecilia's memory to St. Jude, P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101.
