Christine Mary Mulrenin-Wolfbauer, age 55, passed away on August 9, 2024, after a battle with cancer. The youngest of four children, Christine was born August 14, 1968, to James and Dolores (McMurray) Mulrenin in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores in 1986.
She spent 30 years volunteering at St. Germaine Catholic School, where she made lifelong friends. Chrissie was extremely involved in the St. Germaine athletics department, as a member of their sports committee. Throughout those years, she was also a member of the booster club and participated in many of the kids’ favorite events, such as bagel day, the candy table on Fun Day, and the festival.
Her biggest pride and joy in her life were her children: Chelsea, Riley, and Kara. She made it a priority to be a consistent supporter in all aspects of their lives, whether it was at sports, academics, or even just at social events. No matter if it was major or minor, her kids came first. She never missed an important moment. It was well known that she was not only a mother to her children, but to all of their friends as well. Whether it was being a chauffeur or hosting late night basketball until 2am, she was always there. People came to the pool parties for burgers and hot dogs, but stayed for her sarcasm and quick-witted humor.
Some of her last wishes were for a visitation service to be filled with laughter and great memories.
Chrissie was predeceased by her two sons, Riley’s triplet brothers, Alexander and Cameron, who died shortly after birth, her brother James (Jimmie) and her parents James and Dolores. She is survived by her children Chelsea Mulrenin, Riley (Lea Fields) Wolfbauer and Kara Wolfbauer, sisters Maureen (John) Smoke and Kathleen Duchnicki, nieces and nephews Jack and Emily Smoke, and Patrick, Brian and Kevin Duchnicki, dogs Felix and Fenway, and many close family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Kaul Funeral Home of Clinton Township on Thursday, August 15th from 2:00 pm-8:00 pm with a 6:30 pm sharing of memories. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to the V Foundation, for “Victory Over Cancer,” in Christine’s name.
