Daniel J. Finn, age 89, of Clinton Township, passed away in the early morning of Sunday, August 23, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine, to whom he was faithfully married for 67 years. Theirs was an uncommonly devoted love, and when Catherine passed, she took a piece of his heart with her.
Born in Detroit on September 24, 1936, Dan was the son of Robert J. and Mary A. Finn. The youngest of the Finn children, he was the dear brother of the late Robert A. Finn and the late Kathleen Moriarty.
He was humble and self-made. He proudly served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany, he continued his service in the U.S. Army Reserves and later served in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
He built a long and distinguished career in banking, beginning at First National Bank in Mount Clemens and retiring from Huntington Bank. Beyond his professional life, he gave generously of his time to a number of community and charitable organizations, including Easter Seals, and actively contributed to the Mount Clemens Rotary for many years and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. He was a devoted member of the St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Community and a life member of the Mount Clemens Old Crowd.
Above all, Dan was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who gave his family a life full of good memories. He is survived by his children, Mary Catherine, Daniel Jr., William, and James; his grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Mark, Kayla, Kerry, Ryan, and William; and his great-grandchildren, Kason, Alora, Landon, Caiser, Milo, Connor, Finn, Harrison, and Wyatt. He was also "Uncle Daniel" to many wonderful nieces and nephews.
He was an extraordinary and decent man.
Visitation Thursday, August 27, 2026, 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm with Rosary at 7:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township. Funeral Mass Friday, August 28, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church, 41300 Romeo Plank Rd, Clinton Township. Friends may visit the church beginning at 9:30 am.
