Darrell Finch was a husband, a brother, a son, an uncle, a friend and so much more. His battle with pancreatic cancer showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Darrell came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. He was taken from this world way too early on June 6th at home with his loving family nearby.
Darrell is leaving behind his wife Julie Finch, father Bobby Finch, sisters Jennifer (Mitch Purdy) Finch, Carrie (Joe) Cognitore, In-laws Ron & Rosemary Griffiths, Amy & Todd Bloch, Ron & Tammy Griffiths and will be joining his Mother, Karen Finch, where she will give him the biggest hug and comfort.
Darrell was especially loved by all his nieces (Claire, Grace, Olivia, Rylee) and nephews (Joseph, Gavin, Griffin, Trevor); it was most likely because he was a kid at heart. He could make you laugh when you were down and to the point of tears, he could talk to you for hours on Star Wars or Marvel facts, he would let you climb on him like a jungle gym and splash in the pool with you. Darrell loved the time he spent with them, and he truly thought they were very special.
Darrell was a lover of all music especially The Beatles, Phish and The Doors. He had an absolute love of dogs especially his beloved Phoebe that he shared with his wife for many years. He was a sports fanatic and the knowledge he had on rules and stats was mind blowing. He also had a plethora of knowledge of all things and was an excellent at home Jeopardy player and won almost every night.
He was loved deeply by his wife Julie, and they had some truly memorable adventures especially their unforgettable trip up the Pacific Coast Highway. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Darrell. He loved a quiet evening at home with Julie watching their shows laughing and talking, or a scenic evening drive together. His wife would say he had a giant loving smile, beautiful caring eyes, a contagious rolling laugh, the warmest hugs and loved her dearly.
