Dear Uncle Terry, Aunt Theresa & Aunt Cathy,

Was sad to hear of Uncle Dave's passing the other day. Over the years I have proudly shared his story with anyone who was willing to listen. Dave would get on Mom's nerves...he definitely knew how to get her flustered! But, I always found him so lovable- really child like- that he had the courage and audacity to keep asking favors (he always got the choicest doggy-bag from Christmas & Easter dinners!) I had to flex my arm muscles when getting him & his Coke & his wheelchair out of the car on those frigid driveways on Christmas day because the "clamp of death" would descend quickly and mercilessly. After the perfunctory Notre Dame and UM stories subsided and gifts were exchanged, it always was very comforting to have him with everyone. I know you did a lot of work over the years taking care of him- as did Mom, Aunt Theresa & Aunt Cathy. Very proud of you guys. Pope JPII said, "Suffering releases love." Uncle Dave certainly did his share of suffering in this life (I often wondered how I would handle his situation?) Now, I will remember him daily in my Chaplet of Divine Mercy that he gets to enjoy his eternal reward with Our Lord- where he can run & jump and catch all thse touchdown passes he told us about at St. Ambrose.

In Christ,
Bill Rathsburg

Marrs Family:
My high school memories of David always put a smile on my face even after 45 years. I was saddened to hear of your loss. He was truly extraordinary, with great heart and kindness. I wish to extend my sympathies to the Marrs family.

Terry, it is with great sadness that I see the Marrs’ name in the newspaper today. May David be enjoying all the same types of enjoyment we had as kids in the 50s and 60s! And may he enjoy the companionship of the Lord! My heart and prayers are with you and your family.
