June 14, 1957 – September 28, 2026
Deborah Katherine Shock, lovingly known as Deb, passed away on September 28, 2026, following a tragic car accident in which her beloved husband, Ken, was also involved and survived. Deb and Ken were inseparable—two peas in a pod who shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventures. Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of everyone who loved her, especially Ken.
Deb was a one-of-a-kind woman—funny, strong-willed, outspoken, generous, and fiercely protective of those she loved. She was known for her beautiful smile and unforgettable laugh. She loved rock and roll, dancing, partying, babies, and clowns. She lived life with her whole heart and had a way of making people laugh and feel loved.
Deb worked for Ford Motor Company and later ran a daycare from her home, continuing her lifelong connection to caring for children.
Her family was everything to her. Deb and Ken loved camping in their RV and traveling together, often bringing their beloved cat, Stella. They also enjoyed trips to Mexico and Florida with Deb’s daughter, Michelle, and Michelle’s husband, Dan.
One of Deb’s greatest joys was being Nana to her ten beloved grandchildren: Kileey, Haley, Jeremiah, Joshua, Jacob, Victoria, Michael, Leiah, Jack, and Cade. She loved them dearly, enjoyed doing crafts with them, watching them laugh, and cheering them on at their sports and dance events. Being their Nana was one of the greatest joys of her life.
Deb also had a tremendous love for animals. She adored Stella and Lady, the outdoor cat she cared for dearly. We find comfort in imagining Deb being welcomed into heaven by her beloved dog, Buddy, and the other cherished pets who went before her—a joyful reunion with the animals she loved so much.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick Brumm and Patricia Brumm; her son, Donald Robert McGilton Jr., lovingly known as Donny, in 2017; and Michael Shock in 2025. Michael is lovingly remembered alongside his wife, Anisa.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ken; her daughter, Michelle, and son-in-law, Dan; Joshua and his wife, Heidi; Kenneth Jr., affectionately known as Little Kenny, and his wife, Amanda; Julie; and her ten cherished grandchildren; sister, Sandra Edwards; Aunt Judy (Hal) Mark and Uncle Lawrence (Felisa) Brumm, and Aunt Mildred (Ted) Hamilton.
Deb will be remembered for her strength, her humor, her beautiful smile, her unforgettable laugh, and the deep love she gave to her family and friends. Her spirit and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Deb was truly one of a kind. She will be loved, missed, and remembered always.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 9:30 am until a Memorial Service at 12:30 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035.
