Born in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Don Loshbough and Marjorie Paulussen, Don graduated from McKenzie High School in January 1955. Shortly after, he began what would become a remarkable 35-year career at Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1991 as a Senior Designer in Advanced Engine Design.
Don also proudly served his country for 32 years in the Air National Guard, retiring in 1988 as a Chief Master Sergeant with the 127th Tactical Fighter Wing. During his service, he was honored with the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal. His dedication to service continued after his military career, as he volunteered with the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary in the Fort Myers District for 10 years, retiring as a lieutenant in 2006.
A man of many passions, Don had a particular enthusiasm for Shelby Mustangs, owning one himself, and he loved sharing his knowledge of cars with family and friends.
Don was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Loshbough for 69 years; loving father of Darryl (Jennifer) Loshbough, Karen (Terry) Burns, and Kathie Loshbough; cherished grandfather of Krista Kazak, Danielle Jordan, Shelby Barry, Amanda Loshbough, and Lindsay Loshbough; and proud great-grandfather of 12. He was the dear brother of Diane Porter and the late Virginia Holtzman.
Don will be remembered for his integrity, dedication, and warmth, and for the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through his service and devotion.
