

Donald Robert Hardoin, 84, of Sterling Heights went home to be with the Lord on September 17, 2014. he was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born November 27, 1929 to Cornelius and Myrtle Hardoin, who preceded him in death. Don had three brothers and a sister whom he loved and have gone on before him, Raymond, William, John and Pat. His life was filed with faith, family, humor and love. On September 13, 1958, he married Sharon Ann Muldoon and they shared 56 amazing years together. They had six children; Timothy (Julie) Hardoin, Macomb Twp., Jessica (Joseph) Furtah, Marine City; Kevin (Paula) Hardoin, Brandon Twp., Lisa (Fred) Sawyer, Utica; Cynthia (Bruce) Stewart, Shelby Twp., and Rebecca (Dave) Mace, Clinton Twp. He loved and was extremely proud of his 16 grandchildren: Matthew (Heather) Ford, Erin (Mark) Belsito; Ashleigh Hardoin; Stephen Furtah; Amanda (Matt) Duetsch; Jacob Furtah; Mikayla Hardoin; Adam, Ashton and Addiison Sawyer; Eric and Jordyn Mico; Reese Stewart; Gabrielle, Gwendolyn and Gavin Mace and his 7 great grandchildren: Bridget, Evalyn, Henry, David, Haley, Owen and Daniel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He worked for Western Electric/Lucent Technologies for 34 years. He was honored to serve his country during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW Bruce Post #1146 and the CWA. He loved sports and hunting. Most of all, he loved his family which filled his life and heart. Visitation will be today from 3-9:00 pm with a scripture service at 7:30 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home 40800 Hayes, Clinton Township, MI 48038. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 9:30 am at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Community ( Romeo Plank and Canal). Visitation at church 9-9:30 am. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
