Donald “Don” Joseph Quest, age 66, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by family, on Monday, April 3, 2023. He was born October 5, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Robert & Kathleen (Grimshaw) Quest.
Don lived life unapologetically. He worked for over 45 years and retired from the family business Warren Transmission in Detroit. He proudly worked alongside his father and later co-owned the company with his brother, Bob. When not working he was always up for entertaining and was the life of the party. Don was a Detroit sports nut - especially his Lions (Hey, there's always next year!). He enjoyed NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt. Don's happy place was his cabin in Mio Michigan. He relished in going to the lake, snowmobiling, rock hunting, riding motorcycles and four-wheelers. Don was an avid hunter and enjoyed golfing with friends. He was a longtime coach for the SCS Green Hornets Football Team and the LAC St. Clair (St. Gertrude Baseball) program. Don was a member of the Moose Lodge 2495, in Lewiston, Michigan. Family meant the world to Don, more specifically his grandchildren - they were the light of his life. He will be terribly missed by all who knew him.
Don married the love of his life, Bonnie Brown, on July 24, 1976, at St. Leonard Catholic Church in Warren, whom he leaves behind. He also leaves behind their children, Donald (Lisa) Quest and Kristol (Christopher) Wade; grandchildren, Zachary, Brittany (Austin), DJ, Danica, Tristen; and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Kevin, Mila, Maverick, Declan, Silas; his siblings, Robert (Kathleen) Quest, Susan Quest, Mary Wheeler, Julie Quest; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Kathleen Quest; and a sister, Kathleen Quest.
A visitation for Don will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 from 2 pm to 9 pm at Kaul Funeral Home. A visitation will occur Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 10 am until the Funeral Service at Noon at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, MI.
