Earl K. Dildine “the Chief” age 92 Passed away October 18, 2011. He was born December 22, 1918. He was a member of the St. Clair Shores Fire Department from 1940 until his retirement in 1975. He served as Lieutenant from 1946 to 1956, and Fire Chief from 1956 to 1975. He was past president of the State of Michigan Fire Chief’s Association. He served in the US Army as a medic in WWII, and was a lifelong resident of St. Clair Shores. He is survived by his children Bonnie (Carl) Nannini, Kenneth (Sue) Dildine, and Steven Dildine; grandchildren Amy (Kevin) Carr, Craig (Flora) Nannini, Jennifer (Brian) Mitchell, Christine (Richard) Oakey, Seth Nannini, Ross (Amy) Nannini, Micah Nannini, and Adam (Jillia) Nannini; great grandchildren David Carr, Kayla Oakey, James Mitchell, Connor Mitchell, Michael Carr, Antonia Jackson, Allison Mitchell, and Samuel Nannini; sibling Josephine (Lewis) Peters. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth. Private family services were held at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery on Saturday.
