Elizabeth “Betty” Gudenau passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of the late Lester L. Gudenau for 41 years. She was the loving mother of the late Ronald Gudenau, Sandra (Warren) Frieze, Marjorie (John) Lee, Catherine Heskett, and Paul (Janice) Gudenau. She was the cherished grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 19, and great great grandmother of six. She was the dear sister of the late Dorothy (Norm) Pelletier.
To Betty’s family she was known as a crafting queen. She was well known for her knitted Christmas stockings, which she carefully created for each family member. She enjoyed going to local craft shows and even sold her handmade items at them. Recently she started crafting bird houses out of jewelry pieces. Betty enjoyed her time living at Villa Bella. Most often, you could find her in the puzzle room, playing cards or going to bingo with friends. She was the historian of the Shelby Township Newcomers and had recently started Miss Betty’s Stitch and Chatter group at Villa Bella. Her warm heart, beautiful smile and caring nature will be missed by everyone who knew her.
A visitation for Betty will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 10:00 am.
