George G. Schanz, 90, passed away July 24, 2013.He is recently preceded by his wife, Kay C. Schanz on July 10. He is survived by children: Kathleen M. Schanz, O.P., Terri (Ken) Harthen, Betty (George) Schachermeyer, George R. (Diane) Schanz, and Mary Jo (Mark) Klausing; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors Friday, July 26 from 10 - 11 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 15020 Hampton St., Grosse Pointe Park, MI with funeral mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association of Michigan and to St. Ambrose Church.
