He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was a proud veteran. After his military service, George worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Atlas Tool for many years. He was a member of the Mt. Clemens Rock and Minerals Club, sharing his passion for rock hunting with fellow enthusiasts. George loved to tinker, fix things, and was an avid explorer, often spending his time fishing, canoeing, hiking, and even cave exploring. He was a great mentor and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
George married Kathy (Doody) on June 10, 1967, at Temple Baptist Church in Detroit, MI and built a loving family together.
He is survived by his son, George (Dannell); grandchildren: Austin (Chelsea), Seth, and Sophie; great grandchildren: Hunter, Jayce, Grace, and Jaymes; and siblings: Jeanie, Margaret "Cookie", and Robert.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy; parents: Marjorie and Tilford Ladd; and sister, Charlene.
A visitation will be held at Kaul Funeral Home, located at 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI, 48035, on February 13, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Military honors will take place at the same venue at 7:00 pm.
