Gerald Edward Newton, 85, passed away April 18, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Virgina Newton and brother David Newton. Loving father to Judy Riley and Jeannette (the late Gary) Sellers; caring brother to Barbara (the late Ken) Shorkey; grandfather to Aaron Riley, Monica Riley, Suzi Sellers, and Danni Sellers; and uncle to Carolyn Shorkey-Warden, Kenneth Shorkey, Fran Knowles, and Martin Shorkey. Gerald was a union representative during the time he worked for Selfridge and was actively involved with the Parkinson’s group when he lived in Green Valley, AZ. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Parkinson’s Association. A memorial service will be held May 29, 2015, time to be determined, at Wadhams Valley Assisted Living, 33255 26 Mile Rd, Lenox Twp, MI 48048.
