Gino Louis Lamberti passed away due to complications from a stroke on Thursday, August 11, 2022. Gino, who turned 81 on July 30, 2022, was surrounded by many family members at the time of his passing.
Gino is survived by his adoring spouse of 26 years, Gayle. Gino and Gayle were together for more than 40 years.
Gino is also survived by his brothers Carlo Lamberti (Gail), Joe Lamberti (Yvonne), Leo Lamberti (Nadra), Larry Lamberti (Sarah), and Paul Lamberti (Katie).
Gino was a devoted uncle to Carlo David Lamberti, Gina Ruhlig (Matt), Stephanie Winbigler (Dane), Meagan Morgan (Kevin), Samantha McGrath (Peter), Louis Lamberti (Nikki), Mary Puma (David) and a great uncle to 11 nieces and nephews.
Gino was also like a second father to his stepchildren Mark Jacob (Kim), Cheryl Roberson (Dave), Steven Jacob (Cindy), Michael Jacob (Terralyn), and their children Brett Jacob, Lauren Trombley (Jarrod), Aaron Roberson (Sarah), Anna Roberson, Beth Anne Grewe (Adam), Olivia Botti (Blake), Nicole Jacob, Natalie Jacob, Mat Weakland (Nicole) and Corey Jacob. He was also a great-grandpa to 5, with another on the way.
Gino was predeceased by his father Louis Gino Lamberti, his mother Florence Lamberti, and his nephew Tyler Puma.
Gino was raised on the east side of Detroit, graduating from St. Bernard’s High School in 1959. After high school, he fought for our country as a US Navy Machinist’s Mate – 2nd Class from 1959 through 1963. He then began a long career working as a powerhouse mechanic at Uniroyal and Budd Company, and he retired from Budd Company in 2003.
Gino played softball for many years upon his return to the area. He was an avid bowler and golfer as well. His participation in these activities created long-lasting friendships, many of which continued until the time he passed. Gino was a great storyteller, a proud veteran, and a devoted patriarch to his family.
Visitation for Gino will begin at 3 PM on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes, Clinton Township, MI 48038. A time dedicated to the sharing of memories will begin at 7 PM. (Please keep in mind that Hayes Road is under construction from 18 Mile north to Hall Road). In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 or via their website at woundedwarriorproject.org in Gino’s name.
Interment to follow at a future time to be determined at the Great Lakes National Cemetery.
