Gordie Paperd, a true rock 'n' roll enthusiast and the life of every party, left this world on September 13, 2023. He loved his sons with all his heart, and was thrilled to have them tag along with him to concerts. Gordie embraced the music scene with unwavering passion, traveling to countless concerts and lighting up the crowd with his infectious energy.
Some of Gordie's all-time favorite bands included Sunset Boulevard, Ray Street Park, Godsmack, and his ultimate love, Poison and Bret Michaels. His dedication to music was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment he spent at concerts and festivals.
Gordie was a fixture at various festivals, from the Peach Fest to Sterling Fest, the Cheeseburger Festival, and the Armada Fair. He made it a point to attend as many festivals and concerts as possible, sharing his love for music with friends and strangers alike.
Gordie's love for rock music knew no borders, and he frequently hopped between Michigan and Ohio to catch his favorite bands in action. He continued to live life to the fullest, attending a concert featuring Three Days Grace and Chevelle the evening before he passed.
Gordie Paperd will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, love for music, and his ability to bring people together through the power of rock 'n' roll. He leaves behind a legacy of unforgettable memories and cherished moments. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Gordie is survived by his two children, Mitchell Paperd and Matthew Paperd. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Pamela Paperd, who provided unwavering support throughout his life and Gordie's siblings, Christine Durant and David Paperd; girlfriend, Kim; and many friends.
Gordie was preceded in death by his father, Richard, whose memory he cherished and kept alive in his heart.
Visitation for Gordie will take place on Friday, September 22, from 2 to 8 PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Road in Clinton Township. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, at 12 PM at the Funeral Home, with a visitation period beginning at 11 AM.
