Henry W. Swift

Mr. Henry W. Swift, 85, of Macomb, Michigan and Madeira Beach, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011. He retired as Vice President from Manufacturers National Bank after 48 years. He served in the United States Army from 1944-1946. Dear husband of Ann, married for 60 wonderful years. Loving father of Susan (Richard) Walker, Janet (Ron) Swift-Godzisz, Linda Swift, Laurie Swift, and Marybeth (Matthew) Boucher. Loving Grandfather of eight beautiful grandchildren. Henry is survived by loving siblings Francis Gladish, Bruce (Margie) Swift, and William (Margaret) Swift, and Brother-in-law Robert Bush. Predeceased by sisters Dorothy Bush and Katie Williams, and brothers Jim Williams, Henry Williams, and Edwin Williams.

Swift had experienced every phase of branch banking and earned a degree in Banking from The University of Michigan in Administration, a degree from The University of Wisconsin, School of Banking, and another from Walsh College in Accounting.

His affiliations include Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Goodfellows, Dearborn Board of Realtors, Michigan Club, Wolverine Club, Pioneers Club, Dearborn Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of Dearborn Orchestral Society, Saulk Trail Boy Scouts, Centurions, Arthritis Foundation, Dearborn Country Club member, and life member of Million Dollar Trust Fund.

Visitation is planned for Thursday, October 13, 2011 4-8 pm and Friday October 14, 2011 3-8 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038. Funeral service Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10am at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to the charity of your choice.
