The last time I saw Ilah and my grandma Goldie together, it was such a hoot!  They were talking about old times and Ilah was spilling the family secrets and dirt on Goldie's wilder days. I laughed so hard my face hurt for days. Every time Goldie left the room Ilah would start another story!  Goldie would come in, like a bat out of hell, but she was a really good person and would only try to silence her. Thanks to Ilah, as daughter of Bev, who was always a very good child, I now know where my misbehaving and trouble making skills came from!  My daughter Dana Renee' Matthews age 15 is a very good child.  I do believe that the Reid gene, which causes some to act up and clown around, skips a generation.  Goldie could be so bad and funny or good if she chose to, Bev an angle. Myself, I could act up and maybe even top Goldie's behavior at times.  Sometimes my daughter, will say "What is wrong with you!"  Does not find the humor in certain things,  Some day she will probably have a daughter, due to the Reid gene skipping a generation, and remark, "I never acted like that!  Where did this come from?"  The Reid gene!  I would like to think that they are all together putting out a spread of food.  Boy could they all cook!  Will never forget Ilah or and of that family. Thanks to Ilah I was able to see Goldie in a different light.  Ilah would tell those funny stories, and she gave me much insight.  Made me be able to understand why I could get in a little trouble,  was the class clown, or in the principle's office . All Most memorable!  I as a child loved those family reunions.  So Many good memories.  Never saw so many tables of wonderful food.  And there was always the ice cold keg of beer with Fay and Steve and Emily close by, all cutting up.  The world just lost another really wonderful person, with a great since of humor. Too bad we did not get to hear more Goldie stories from Ilah.  I am sure Ilah had plenty more.  Just could not get them out with Goldie at guard! She will me missed. She was loved by all that met her.  Wonderful sense of humor.  Would really laugh and smile when telling bad Goldie stories. I would like to think they are all at the family reunion, together, having a great time. Sorry for your loss. Thanks for a lot of good times and memories.  Most kids would not want to go to a family reunion.  We could not wait to go!  So many good times.  So many good memories  Great food, and a lot of it!  All are missed.  Even Ernies's goats!  Jill S. A favorite memory is the last time I saw Aunt Ilah and my mother Goldie together.  They reminisced about growing up on the farm and together they had tears of laughter running down everyone's face. Now the last of the Reid family is gone and the stories they told are just fond memories.  I will miss you Aunt Ilah.
