Jacob Joseph Holka was the first born child to parents Florian and Eleanor(Messana) Holka on Detroit's east side on December 17, 1953. He went to Detroit Public Schools, including Finney High, and finishing his senior year at Clintondale High School in 1972.
Immediately after graduation Jacob bravely joined the United States Marine Corps. Afterwards, he worked in the tool & die trade and later advanced to quality control for the remainder of his career.
Jacob met his wife Francene Fowler in 1980, and they were married in January of 1982. They shared their lives together for over 45 years, also on Detroit's east side and in Clinton Township.
He retired from Johnson Controls in 2016 and maintained part-time employment elsewhere.
Unfortunately, Jacob died on the morning of Friday, October 24, 2025 at the age of 71. He led a relatively long and very happy lifestyle in almost perfect health until he was diagnosed with cancer in several of his organs, just month ago. He was blessed to be almost pain free while keeping his notorious, outrageous sense of humor until the end.
He is survived by his very caring wife Francene, two loving sisters, Lorraine and Diana Holka and two proud brothers, Richard and James Holka. He also had 3 brothers-in-law, Frank and Jamie Fowler and a dear sister-in-law, Cynthia Morgan and her husband, Morris. He was very close to his in-laws, and even closely cared for by his ex-sister in-law Petra Holka during his treatment.
Jacob and Francene did not have children, but they were blessed with many loving nieces and nephews from both sides of the family. His nonstop, silly sense of humor and hearty laughter will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township this Saturday, from 2-8 pm, with a prayer service at 7 pm.
A Luncheon will follow this Sunday, November 2nd at Roger's Roost in Sterling Heights starting at 5 pm.
