Janet H. Gilbert

Janet found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially gardening, flowers, and cooking. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, her love of home and family, and the many ways she showed her care through everyday acts of love and devotion.

She is survived by her children, Mark A. Harper, Jeffery J. Gilbert, and April M. Gilbert; and her grandchildren Johnathon, Vanessa, and Chris; Jake and Jessica; and Domonic, Olivia, Myasia, and Emma.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, William Gilbert; her parents Charles and Sophia Shanabarger; and her siblings, James, Paul, and Richard.

Family and friends are invited to gather between 12:30 PM and 12:45 PM Monday, July 13, 2026 at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038, to assemble vehicles for the funeral procession. The procession will depart promptly at 12:45 PM ahead of Janet's graveside service at 1:00 PM at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road, Clinton Township, MI, 48038.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
