Jeanne Marie (Hess) Boney Born, July 20, 1925 – Passed on to eternal life: December 20, 2019.
Jeanne Marie Hess Boney, 94, was called home to God peacefully in the early morning of Friday, December 20, 2019 at Blake Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, after suffering from congestive heart failure and a second heart attack earlier that week.
Jeanne was active her entire life, golfing, swimming and water aerobics, traveling and was an avid reader. She loved dancing and after working for a studio in Dayton, Ohio, she opened up her own dance studio. She also sang in a big band, where she met Joseph R. Boney, their pianist. They were married 56 years, raising 3 children with Jeanne working part time in banking and retail in her later years. After Joseph’s death in 2003, Jeanne spent winters in Bradenton, Florida and was involved in numerous activities of the Mt. Vernon Condo Association the past 15 years after buying a condo there in 2004.
She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph (2003), as well as her parents (Elmer “Mike” and Eileen O’Connell Hess), and all three of her brothers, Don, Bob and Lee. She is survived by her children: Craig Boney, Pamela Berger, Deborah (Les) Adams and 6 Grandchildren: Dawn Surma, Derek (Anna) Berger, Steven (Dolly) Boney, Diana Boney, Jessica (Michael) Pietrzak, and Jeffrey (Emma) Adams. Jeanne has 11 Great-Grandchildren: Alexandra, Veronica and Annabella Berger; Brittney, Payton, and Riley Boney; Matthew, Jacob and Abigail Surma; and Elena and Adam Pietrzak, along with many loving nieces and nephews, and cousins, with whom she has kept in touch over the past years.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at St. Michael Catholic Community at 40501 Hayes Road, Sterling Heights MI 48313 at 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 am.
