OBITUARY

Jeannine Kriebel

January 10, 1934September 30, 2019

Jeannine Kriebel, age 85, of Macomb, Michigan, passed away on September 30, 2019. She was born on January 10, 1934 in Paducah, Kentucky to Cecil and Beulah (Dalton) Barrett. On April 14, 1951 she was united in marriage to Harry W. Kriebel. Together they shared 58 years of marriage. Jeannine is survived by her children Robert Kriebel, Eric (Kim) Kriebel, Renee (Joe) Berak, Christine Blashill and Fred (Kari) Kriebel. Cherished grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Harry, and her adult children Joyce and Burt, and infant son, Bruce.

As a young child, Jeannine moved to Detroit with her mother. She met Harry at Grace Lutheran Church in Detroit while both were members of the choir. Always wanting a big family, her dreams came true when she and Harry married. Together they raised seven children, enjoyed countless family parties, celebrations and many cherished memories. Music, dancing, good food and laughter were a part of life in the Kriebel household.

A homemaker, Jeannine enjoyed baking pies and cookies, reading, and shopping for antiques with Harry. As a young woman, she loved music and dancing. She and her family vacationed for over 20 years to their cottage on Crystal Lake in Frankfort, Michigan where they had many wonderful memories. Later in life, Jeannine and Harry spent a number of years vacationing in Kentucky, Alabama and Arizona, shopping for antiques and enjoying their golden years together.

A loving and devoted wife and mother, Jeannine loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She was accepting of everyone, welcoming new family members with open arms. Jeannine was always a favorite aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Known to be gracious, sweet and kind, she was loved by many. Jeannine had a sweetness about her that was genuine and contagious. You couldn’t help but love her!

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 2-8 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan. A brief gathering will continue on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 10:30 AM, until time of the funeral service at 11 AM, also at Resurrection Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jeannine's memory to The Mental Health Association in Michigan (MHAM) https://www.mha-mi.com/.
