Joanne Eckstein

Joanne is survived by her loving husband, William; children, Christine Eckstein, John Eckstein, and Jill Zemke; twin-sister, Dianne Antczak(Manny) Balos; and nieces and nephews, David (Rosemary) Balos, Michael (Dr. Mary) Balos, Doreen (Jim) Hankins, Melissa (John) Sahajdack, Michelle (Jim) Antczak-Healey, and Matt Antczak. She was preceded in death by her Parents, and her brother Kenneth (Mary Anne) Antczak.

Joanne graduated with awards from Wayne State University, receiving her master’s degree later from Central Michigan University. She was employed by Hudson’s as an assistant buyer, Bobbie Brook’s as a buyer, and Macomb Community College where she was a professor of retailing. Joanne was also a member of the Fashion Group of Detroit. She was a passionate musician who was proficient in singing and playing the violin and piano. She played in the Michigan City Symphony and sang in the Racham Choir. Joanne also enjoyed the time she spent at various casinos.

A Funeral Service will be held at 9:30AM on Monday, July 28, 2014 at St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church, 4571 John R Rd, Troy with visitation leading into the service starting at 9:00AM. Visitation will be held from 2:30PM to 9:00PM, Sunday, July, 27, 2014 at Kaul Funeral Home – Clinton Twn, 35201 Garfield Rd, with a 7:00PM Rosary.
