It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of John Merandi on October 11, 2026.
John was a devoted husband to Cindy Merandi, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. He was a proud father to Rachel (Scott) Fleury and John Merandi, and a loving grandfather to Jake, Addison, Olivia, Carter, Jax, Caleb, Mia, and Ava.
He is also lovingly remembered by his brother Joe, Marybeth, and their daughters, Samantha, Mariana, and Sabrina, along with many other family members and friends.
John was a hardworking man who loved his family, loved the Lord, and always believed in helping others.
He began working at Ford Motor Company while still in high school and eventually retired from DuPont. He took great pride in his work and rarely missed a day. John also had a deep passion for serving his community through the fire department and EMS, proudly serving as a Fire Captain.
John’s devotion to the Lord was evident throughout his life. He read his Bible daily, loved teaching his grandchildren about God, and faithfully served as a hospital chaplain, offering comfort, prayer, and encouragement to patients and their families during difficult times. His compassion and dedication touched the lives of many.
John also enjoyed photography and capturing special family memories.
John will always be remembered for his hard work, his faith, his devotion to God and his family, and his willingness to help others.
A visitation for John will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 2pm-8pm, with a funeral service at 5pm, at Kaul Funeral Home - 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Twp, MI 48035.
Dad, we love you, we are proud of you, and we will miss you more than words can ever say. Until we meet again. ❤️
