Dear Hopersberger Family,

It is with awe that I read the other entries in this Guest Book. How many lives this one beautiful life touched. I am thinking of your family during this difficult time and lifting you in prayer. I know that the next days will be hard for all of you, yet full of so many wonderful memories.
Rest in Peace, Mr Hopersberger.

Dear Karen,

You and Joe
Joe and you.
A more perfect pair
I never knew!

One of my fondest memories of you two were our Lakeside Mall walks. I learned your stories as we trekked past stores. We expounded upon life in general, the right to life, politics and our Catholic faith. Of course, Joe always had a joke to share!

Choir practice at St. Paul of Tarsus held several fond memories of Joe's antics. It was a given, that at some point during rehearsal, Joe would let loose one of his " zingers" from his corner in the back row. The entire choir, and our two directors, were caught up in hyterics of laughter. Sue C. and the spider, who came down beside her, was the best zinger of all!

Karen, in my heart, your Joe was the extroverted version of the good St. Joseph, a just and upright man. Joe was intelligent, caring, humorous, loving, hospitable, a patriot, a defender of life, and honorable. He was big in physical stature, but more importantly, Joe possessed a bigger than life personality and persona. Joe is already greatly missed because a huge black hole was created on the day he passed away.

But...I do believe that Joey greeted his Dad with open arms when your Joe entered into eternal life.

Know that you and your beloved family are in my daily prayers. I pray often for the repose of Joe' s soul.

May God grant you peace and comfort.

Love, hugs, and prayers,
Carmen Norkiewicz

Karen,
I was sorry to hear about Joe’s passing. I know he was a great husband and your best friend, and it must be tough for you right now. Joe will not only leave a void in our lives but in the hearts of all those who knew him. Joe will always be remembered.

Joe was more than just a wonderful person; he was always so kind and considerate. I always welcomed seeing him at every opportunity. However, when both of you came to mass (the dynamic duo) after, it was fun and laughter at Tim Horton with our coffee club.

My good friend Joe was a true American Patriot. I enjoyed our conversations on political issues and bashing certain politicians. He was a man of honor, loved this country, and was not afraid to defend America, on email, Facebook, and Messenger. I loved his posts. I will miss them very much.

I hope you're holding up okay, Karen. Death is especially painful when you lose someone so close, and more so when they die unexpectedly. There is no way you can prepare for that. I know you have the support of your family and friends, but I also know it’s not easy.

My sincere thoughts and prayers are with you.
With deepest sympathy,
Nick and Bianca Vitale

Karen...
I was so sad to hear of Joe's passing. He was such a good person and so much fun. I have so many memories of both of you from the Chorus days. I lost Jerry on January 18, 2020 from Pancreatic Cancer. Prayers to you and all of your famiky.

I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.
I remember all the fun times we had in choir.
He was always cracking a joke and don't even try to be serious. I remember the "look" Karen would give him.
If you had a bad week you know you would leave with a smile.

Dear Karen and family:
So sorry to hear about Joe. A bright funny light has left us. We
Had so many great vacations up north at Brevort Lake. The kids got along so well it was a joy to see. Always remember at sunset seeing Scott and Joe sitting on a Bench with Joe’s arm around Scott.

They made a movie of one of our trips called Home Alone. We were always leaving Joey behind. So many happy years.

Our prayers are with you and your family.
Love, Scott & Barbara Yamazaki

I met Karen and Joe five years ago at Church. We became good friends and had so many great evenings at Choir Practice and at our annual Christmas Parties and picnics with the choir.
Such kind, loving people. They loved life, their faith, and adored their children. Always cheerful, positive, and caring. Such a sad loss.
I was blessed to know Joe.

Karen will surely miss her partner. But her family will take great care of her. As will her many friends.

God’s Blessings to the family.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. We care!

Love,
Wendy and Frank
