Joyce Marie Rosol, (Nee Turkowski), of Clinton Township, MI passed away from this life on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She lost her lifetime love, Robert P. Rosol, Sr. over 3 years before. While she never got over his loss, she continued to enjoy her children: Renee Mohan, Bridgit Foss, and Robert “Robb” Rosol, Jr. as well as her grandchildren: Trenton Mohan, Tollison Rosol and the Foss children: Chantal McPike, Keagan, Marquelle and Berrhett Foss. And, even though Joyce already considered and enjoyed Kelly Piper as a granddaughter, she was looking forward to officially calling Kelly, Trent’s fiancée, “granddaughter”. Joyce was also honored with the title “Great Grandmother”.
Joyce was born on November 13, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the eldest daughter of Norbert Turkowski and Lillian Plotzka Turkowski. She began a career at AT&T as a switchboard operator while she proudly waited for Bob to complete his service to his country. They were married on June 11, 1955. The two remained married for their entire lives, honoring their vow, “until death do us part” after 63 years.
Once married, Joyce transitioned from a career position to become an exceptional “homemaker”. She devoted her life to her husband, family, and home; and did so with inexhaustible dedication and love. When her children were grown and her husband retired, Joyce enjoyed travelling across the US in the RV she shared with Bob. After some years of exploring, they decided to come back to the Detroit area to be near and care for family members. Once again, she lovingly turned to homemaking and caregiving. But this time, for her maiden aunt and widowed mother until their deaths. After returning both loved ones to God, Joyce spent many a weekend at “camp” with Bob and her grandson, Trent; or visiting her son and his family in Charleston; especially enjoying moments of “Master’s” golf with Robb and violin concerts performed by her granddaughter, Tolli; long telephone talks with her daughter Bridgit, or sipping an Old-Fashion at a nice dinner-out with her daughter Renee and frequently attending Knights of Columbus events with her husband, Bob.
She was an exceptional cook, and proudly continued to prepare spectacular Polish meals for family holidays right up to the last of her days. She was a devoted Catholic who served The Lord in her “little ways” in imitation of her Patron Saint, Therese of Lisieux. Her wonderful cooking, deep love and devotion to family and spiritual guidance will be deeply missed.
