Judith was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Carney, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Karen (Robert) Stevenson, Kathleen (Paul) King, Michael (Ana) Carney, and Patrick (Denise) Carney. She was the cherished grandmother of Thomas, Melissa, Samantha, Bryan, Austin, Ashley, Brendan, Michael, and Ryan, the proud great-grandmother of Bobby, Hunter, Peyton, Bobby, Ceci, Autumn, CJ, Hudson, and Brooks, and the dear sister of Nancy Martin and Mary Norris. Judith was preceded in death by her brothers William Martin, Charles Martin, John Matin, and Michael Martin.
A woman of deep faith, Judith was a dedicated member of St. Matthias Church, where she generously volunteered her time and shared her love of teaching as a catechism instructor. She also enjoyed serving her community as a baker for Utica Community Schools.
Judith found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time camping, tending to her garden, sewing, and creating lasting memories in the kitchen by baking cookies with her grandchildren.
Judith will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering faith, generous spirit, and the unconditional love she gave to her family and friends.
In State will be held at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 12311 19 Mile Road in Sterling Heights, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Matthias Catholic Church at 11:00 am.
